Fun at Chicago’s Annual Blues Festival

Let the music stir your spirit at the annual Chicago Blues Festival and enjoy a savory soul-food buffet dinner at the House of Blues.

About Your Trip

On this DreamTrip to Chicago, Illinois, spend a day dancing at the Chicago Blues Festival, the largest music festival in the city with a gathering of more than 500,000 blues fans each year. The 2017 celebration will be moved to Millennium Park after spending over 3 decades at the Petrillo Music Shell. Past legends who have performed at the festival include B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Ray Charles and Stevie Ray Vaughan. This year’s lineup features Grammy-nominated harmonica master Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues, Grammy winners Gary Clark Jr. and William Bell, and many more world-class artists.

Plus, after reveling in the festival’s music, join your fellow DreamTrippers at House of Blues Chicago, adjacent to your hotel, for a soul-food buffet dinner complete with a live blues performance to stir your spirit even more.

What we love:
• While the Deep South naturally comes to mind when most people think of the blues, a huge migration of Southerners looking for better economic opportunities in the mid-1900s led to the birth of urban blues in Chicago.
• The Jay Pritzker Pavilion — Millennium Park’s centerpiece designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry — features a curved metal facade and a latticework shell with speakers that carry music to the far end of the lawn.
• Your soul-food buffet dinner includes jalapeno cornbread muffins, homemade coleslaw, baked macaroni and cheese, buttermilk fried chicken, house-smoked St. Louis rib fingers, bourbon bread pudding bites and more.
